[birth. story.]

By: Jenuine Poetess

at all hours of
day and night
they come to me
ready for birth
gasping pains
gripping contractions
gestation complete

I am a midwife
guardian of the threshhold
delivering truths
as courageous ones labor them
into the light

the wound is a womb
out of which such
stories
poems
narratives
are born

the fruit of our
waking
breathing
surviving
loving

I am a midwife
delivering
unsilence
